The Adams County Arts Council has scheduled a variety of photography classes for adults this fall, to be held at the Arts Council?s Arts Education Center, located at 125 South Washington Street in Gettysburg.

Introduction to Digital Photography: If you?re new to digital photography, this class is for you. Learn how to use your camera, take great photos, load photos onto your computer, manipulate them using your camera?s software, and make professional-looking prints. Bert Danielson will teach two sessions of this class. Session one, for point-and-shoot cameras, will meet Wednesdays, September 5 through 26, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Session two, for digital SLRs, will meet Tuesdays, November 6 through 27, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Introduction to Photoshop Elements: This beginners? class will cover image enhancement, use of selection tools, use of clone and healing stamps, and printing. Danielson will teach this class on Fridays, October 5 through 26, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.
Fall Panorama and Landscape Photography: Learn guidelines and techniques for composing, exposing, and post-processing panoramic and landscape photos for any camera as you capture the beautiful fall foliage and make a print of your favorite image. Ted Scarpino will teach this class on Wednesdays, October 17 through 31, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
Taking Portrait Photography One Step Further: In this interactive hands-on workshop, you?ll examine the work of well-known photographers, identify elements of effective portraits, critique your own images and the work of others, and create images that go beyond what they?ve done previously. You?ll walk away with several high-quality images for your portfolio. Nanette Hatzes will teach this class on Wednesdays, November 7 through 21, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Layers and Filters: Learn how to use layers and filters to enhance your images. You?ll work with selection tools and learn how to take portions of a picture and move or alter them to make a collage.?Danielson will teach this two-day seminar on Fridays, November 9 and 16, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.
